From ancient graffiti to bullet marks on its walls, from unique frescoes to architectural and structural peculiarities, the Church of Saint Mary in Birkirkara, commonly known as il-Knisja l-Qadima has many remarkable features that bear testimony to its unique historical heritage dating back to the early 17th Century.

But perhaps the most remarkable feature of all, is the resilience and dedication of its parishioners and parish leaders, who have, throughout centuries, maintained, restored and even rebuilt this gem of a church, despite the most challenging times.

Virtue Solaris is proud to have been entrusted by St Mary’s Parish to install a solar PV system on the rooftop of the Parish Centre. The system will, from now on, provide solar power to the Centre for many years to come.
