In older properties, traditional roof construction methods, such as wooden support beams (xorok) and stone slabs cannot withstand the weight of a solar PV system. Moreover, any drilling into such structures is strongly contraindicated!
In such scenarios, we install underlying supporting beams manufactured with heavy duty hot dip galvanized steel hollow sections. These beams extend from one load-bearing element of the building (wall) to another, and are anchored into the walls with special stainless steel studs and chemical anchor. Thus no weight is exerted on the roof slab itself, and no penetration into roof slab is necessary. Supporting frame for solar panels is then bolted directly to these steel beams, using stainless steel bolts.
